Fracture Morphology Characterization of Unidirectional CFRP and CFRTP Composites

Abstract

In this study, typical thermoplastic resin polyamide 6 (PA6) and thermosetting epoxy resin were used as matrices to manufacture unidirectional (UD) carbon fiber (CF) reinforced PA6 resin plates (CF/PA6) and epoxy resin plates (CF/Epoxy) to investigate their fracture morphology characterization through using tensile tests, microscope observation and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation methods.
