DYNAMIC MEASUREMENT OF THE PROJECTILE MOTION RESISTANCE AND THE INFLUENCE OF PROJECTILE MOTION RESISTANCE ON INTERIOR BALLISTICS PERFORMANCE
Abstract
The motion resistance of projectile in gun barrel has an important influence on the interior ballistic performance. But it is difficult to measure the motion resistance of projectile because there exists high temperature and high pressure gas in the gun barrel. Firstly, this paper designs and manufactures the measurement devices which contains the projectileborne recorder, the shell and the test-projectile. Then the gun launch test is carried out with these devices, and the projectile motion resistance is calculated according to the test data. Secondly, the two-phase flow interior ballistic model is established and solved. Finally, the influence of the projectile motion resistance on the interior ballistics performance, such as pressure wave and projectile muzzle velocity, are simulated and discussed.
